08:17 AM ET 12.28 | According to a report, Steven Cohen hasn't merely lobbed a number in the general direction of Chavez Ravine. [Cohen], a billionaire eight times over, is bidding for the Dodgers in a process tilted toward the high bidder. However, the East Coast hedge-fund executive is not content to let his wealth speak for itself. He has engaged one of America's notable sports architecture firms to propose renovations to Dodger Stadium, allied himself with one of baseball's power brokers, secured the support of at least two prominent Angelenos and met with several major league owners. He was joined in those meetings by Arn Tellem, an influential sports agent who could run the Dodgers if Cohen were to buy the team.

This guy sounds like he's got some deep pockets and he's on the ball. Quite a contrast to the parking lot attendant who had to borrow nearly every nickle. I still can't believe MLB allowed that idiot to buy the Dodgers.

And if he doesn't want to save the Dodgers..maybe he'd be interested in a team with a brand new stadium on the east coast ...very close to the financial epicenter (Wall Street) of the world...with a solid fan base who most likely would have been Dodger fans if they never left..and one of the most endearing mascots in baseball...and who's roots of origin can be linked to the Dodgers.......and who's fans are so desperate for a new owner it's not even funny...and he would be in the baseball mecca of the world New York City......waddya say there Mr. Cohen....huh waddya say.....I'm begging ya......please rescue us from baseball purgatory.....

As a lifelong Dodgers fan (but no longer an Angeleno) -- please get McSleaze out of Los Angeles as soon as possible. Hopefully with only the clothes on his back and a ticket to Boston on Greyhound.

The problem is, the Wilpons are refusing to sell the team. The old man is deternmined to keep the team in the family's hands.

I grew up a Dodger fan too. I'd like to see the guy dumped in South Central. I put the over/under at his survival at 10 minutes. I'll take the under.
