08:03 AM ET 12.30 | LaDainian Tomlinson knows the career clock is ticking on him. [Tomlinson] would like to continue playing football after this season, but knows that there's a possibility his 11-year career could come to an end on Sunday if the situation isn't right. He is currently in the final year of his contract with the Jets. "There's definitely the thought that it possibly could be." ... "I would love to keep playing but if the situation isn't right then I won't. And this possibly could be my last game." As far as who could keep him around, Tomlinson said he's not just tied to finishing his career as a Jet. "I'm open to anything," he said. "It don't have to be here, it could be another place, I'm just open to playing football."

Someone might throw this dog a bone next year.

Hell last year should have been his last game played...

December 30, 2011  08:31 AM ET

he's still decent depth and has solid hands. winning a job as a change of pace back could happen for LT if he's willing to take a vet min deal.

I think he still has some game left.

He gave it his all, that's all you can ask, outstanding running back!!!

December 30, 2011  08:52 AM ET

If it is a SB ring that he is after, he might have to play special teams. And, I'm not talking returning kicks.

December 30, 2011  09:17 AM ET

All he wants is a chance to play in the Super Bowl. That ain't going to happen with the Jets.

I agree. He can still contribute, but he's not a premiere back anymore. The NY Jest don't have one of those on the roster.
