Interest in Fisher heating up

08:05 AM ET 01.03 | Day 1 of the offseason for some franchises focused Monday more on firings than hirings. There was limited action with any of the A-list coaches looking for jobs. The one exception was Jeff Fisher. And the St. Louis Rams began their courtship of Fisher shortly after parting with coach Steve Spagnuolo and GM Billy Devaney, according to league sources. If Fisher ends up in St. Louis, it could be with a young executive like Lake Dawson, whom he knows well from Tennessee, or Les Snead of the Atlanta Falcons joining him there as the general manager. The presence of quarterback Sam Bradford and Fisher's ties to the Rams' front office are strong factors in St. Louis' favor. The Miami Dolphins have interest in Fisher as well.

Probably the most desired coach out there... but I'm certain his primary request will be to not allow that dude in the uniform behind him in this picture on any team he coaches.

The Fish are closer to being a playoff ready team than the Rams are.

Someone is getting to way over pay for Fisher. He's average at best.

By his record... yeah he definitely is. But I do think he would be good for a team like St. Louis who would benefit from his experience.

Miami is, but they likely have played themselves out of the RGIII race and would have to sell the farm to move up and get him. Matt Moore has looked good at times (but I think that shows more of Chad Henne's deficiencies than Moore's skill) he is not a long term answer. While in St. Louis Fisher would get Bradford, who had a crappy year, but has tons and tons of potential. It's a QB driven league and St. Louis has a guy that many coaches would love to have.

As a Bears fan I have to ask, whom would you rather have as coach, Lovie or Fisher ... I shouldn't have to answer this question.

Bradford has not been able to shed the injury prone label he brought with him from Oklahoma because he has had the crap beat out of him in just 2 yrs with the Rams.

I'm sure you guys would take a warm seat cushion over the guy that is there now.

Actually the Rams had a pretty good defense this year, but their offense sucked and they need a good offfensive tackle (Kalil) or a WR (Blackmon) and then they could sigh a few free agents and then they might be an respectable team in a couple of years.

Still would rather have him and his potential that a combo of Matt Moore and Chad Henne.

I completely agree... Why I think St. Louis would be more attractive than Miami. Plus you get to play in the NFC West as opposed to the AFC East. They also need some bodies in the secondary, but they really have a lot of pieces in place to become a good team. Whereas Miami has some issues... An owner more concerned with making a headline splash than putting together a great team, plus you would get Reggie Bush pushed down your throat to be the starter (I know he had a few good games, but he is not an every down back) and what do you do with headcase Brandon Marshall? So while Miami may be closer to competing I think St. Louis would be the more attractive location.

You don't seriously think those two would be the QB's if Fisher took the Miami job do you?

Honestly, I don't even think it has to be warm at this point.
I was watching the Indy vs. Jacksonville game last Sunday. Why? because CBS is **** and didn't televise an interesting early game. Anyway, one of the commentators spoke about how well Caldwell had done this year in the face of adversity. He said the players are really playing hard for Caldwell and that the Colts have been competitive in all their losses.
Sometimes I think CBS could find some random drunken fool and get equally good analysis.

That's what happens when you are sacked 27 times in a season. The Rams need to improve their offensive line.

Wait for Caldwell to get the axe and go to Indy so you can stick it to the Titans twice a year
