Knicks didn't have to be this thin

08:15 AM ET 01.03 | With a five-point loss to visiting Toronto, the Knicks slipped back below .500. Their bench is a patchwork of rookies, aging veterans and marginal players. The drop-off in talent after the Big Three is enormous. This is the quandary the Knicks created for themselves when they shipped four starters to Denver for [Carmelo Anthony] last February. ... Had Anthony waited, he could have joined a lineup with the capable Raymond Felton at point guard and Danilo Gallinari as a versatile sixth man. The Knicks would have lost Wilson Chandler to free agency, but they could have kept Timofey Mozgov and their 2014 first-round pick. The roster would have been deeper, more balanced. Or the Knicks might have parlayed those assets into Chris Paul.

The Raptors were leading in the 4th quarter in all three Pacers, Mavs and the Magic games, but they lost at the end. I thought the Raptors were gonna lose this one too. We could have been 5-0 by now :(

The Knicks could have waited until the season ended and not make the trade with Denver last season. Carmello was going to sign with the Knicks as soon as the season was over. It did not matter if he was traded to another team; except the Lakers; he was not going to sign with any other team.

Yes, the Knicks gave up too much and you can notice the depletion. No bench support and a shabby point guard rotation. The Knicks rotation suck big and with no help in sight they will crash and burn shortly. D'antonio's system does not work the Chandler, Melo because these guys lumber up and down the court. The tempo have to be slowed a little and the ball movement have to be a little more deliberate.
