Brown giving Kobe too much freedom?

08:09 AM ET 01.04 | Mike Brown and Kobe Bryant have yet to display any signs of an uneasy tension as the two work around what might be the obvious. Here's the thing, Brown's offense focuses on getting the ball inside to the big men, and while Kobe is a big man, he's not one of the Lakers' big men. So how are Brown and Kobe going to coexist as Andrew Bynum becomes more of a force to complement Pau Gasol, and the coach calls for the ball to go inside more? "In my mind Kobe can still close games for us," Brown says. ... But getting back to the question that was really asked, how about Kobe shooting the ball? "If Kobe comes out and hits his first two, I'm OK with him to keep going, but I'm not going to call Kobe's number early on."

If anybody on this earth expects Kobe ot have any respect for Brown they are crazy. Kobe is the resident evil. He has paid his dues and done it all in LA. No way in hell would he relinquish his well-earned king of the town rights to some new coach. Face it Laker fans - he tells Brown what to do.. that's how it should be.

In Kobe's mind his knee just went back to when he was 26. Now tell him to slow down...

You know whats crazy-though its been a short sample size ( and un-injured smaple size)Bynum is averaging 22 points Dwight is averaging 18 Not sure how Laker fans can still want to move Bynum AND Pau for dwight

Bynum is always on borrowed time. His knees will give in again. That's a fact so how can their fans not crave for Howard?

Yeah, the Lakers seem aaight so far, and Bynum was scoring too... thinking a non issue so far.

What??? Never.... That's Blasphemy....

January 4, 2012  09:39 AM ET

This is contrived bs to fill a column. Kobe had 37 last night and Binum went for 23 and 22. Where's the issue? When Shaq was there, Kobe got his points and they won rings. Their problem were personal, not about Kobe getting his touches. Brown is emphasizing defense because they don't have the talent to just role the balls out and outscore everyone.
