Rams in arms race for Fisher

08:07 AM ET 01.04 | Helicopters tend to make an impression. When I first saw the video of Jeff Fisher walking across the Miami Dolphins practice field and hopping into owner Stephen Ross' fancy private helicopter on Tuesday, I have to admit a rather unusual thought crossed my mind: "I wonder if Stan Kroenke has a magic carpet?" Or maybe a unicorn. In other words, whatever over-the-top display of wretched excess is needed to trump the flashy sales pitch that went on in Florida as the Dolphins began the pursuit of the NFL's newest "it" head coaching candidate, let's hope Rams owner Kroenke has already signed off on it. ... This is a very big deal for Kroenke, the most significant move of his 17-month-old stint as majority owner.

Get a picture of Fisher without the backup QB for the Dream Team in it and the Rams can probably get him for the highest bid.

What? No thread about the Chargers settling for Norv and A.J. for another season? I thought that would have been an easy choice for today.

Apparently.

I'd like to see guys like Russ Grimm and Mike Zimmer get talked up. When Brian Schottenheimer gets more mention for possible HC openings, there's a problem.

Didn't think he should have been fired from the Titans to begin with. He could be the first to sign with a new team.

What exactly has this guy done to garner so much attention. One superbowl appearance, and I think one afc championship. I'd pass on him

Miami is pretty disfunctional. If Fisher wants to win, there are easier projects to take on.

Either way, he should send Christmas cards to Cowher and Gruden for deciding to stay in the booth. That put his leverage through the roof.

Gone Fishing!!! For da Fish?

Well, that looks pretty good to the Fish if you reference how little they have accomplished since Marino retired.

and they didn't even mention that Ross can have Mr. Fisher hobknob w/ celebrity minority owners J.Lo, Gloria Estefan, and Jimmy Buffet... with a SoCal upvringing, Jeff will fit nicely between the Star Island crowd and Margaritaville...

Deep pockets? I'm pretty sure Stan Kroenke is the wealthiest owner in the NFL. And the Rams will be $30-40 million under the salary cap in this upcoming offseason, so I'm not sure how the Dolphins get classified as having deeper pickets.

Melman... why is Schotty getting mentinoned for a HC position... was it the heckuva-of-a-job he did this year as the OC for the NYets? He turned the Sanchize prince into a frog inside of 3 years...

Russ Grimm..........
