08:13 AM ET 01.04 | Playing in his fourth NBA city in as many seasons, and for the league minimum, Tracy McGrady certainly has earned some perspective. [Perhaps] McGrady, 32, has found a place where he can settle down for a while. Having signed last month as a free agent with Atlanta, McGrady is averaging 11.6 points in five games as the Hawks' sixth man. ... [Q:] Why did you choose to sign with Atlanta instead of perhaps going to a team that is closer to winning a title? TM: Well, I just wanted to go to a team where I felt like I fit in well. I didn't want to be one of these guys that's going to a team to chase a championship. That wasn't what I wanted to do. I felt like this was a great team with a great core and a piece like myself missing.

Tmac healthy for any team is good. He still has some juice left. It was nice watching him drain 3s on Miami.

Heat couldn't afford you huh?

Actually.....he's playing for the veteran's minimum. So he really isn't out to chase dollars.

It really seems that he's just trying to 'Get in where he can fit in'. And he's playing well for a pretty good team that'll make some noise during the season.

ATL won't win any championships.....but they have a real solid season.....again.

And that could be a big part of it, too!

Why isnt he chasing championships? Maybe because he suckes now. Hey McGrady, maybe there's a market for a gimp legged has-been in Croatia.

January 4, 2012  11:14 AM ET

Whatever. No one playing on the Hawks is chasing a Championship.

January 4, 2012  12:08 PM ET

Could it be that the Heat, Thunder, Bulls, and Lakers don't want him?
Either or, I'm glad to see Mac back, and contributing on a playoff team.
