08:00 AM ET 01.05 | Steve Spagnuolo apparently has less interest in collecting a paycheck than he does returning to the sidelines. Sometimes when a coach is fired with a year left on his deal, he prefers to sit back and watch, maybe do a little TV work, collecting the paycheck. A source close to Spagnuolo said today that is not Spags' mindset. The source said Spagnuolo, 52, expects to coach in the NFL next season, and would be interested in any opening that might occur with the Eagles. ... We still don't know there is an opening with the Eagles. Team chairman Jeffrey Lurie seemed to send mixed signals on defensive coordinator Juan Castillo in Lurie's Tuesday press conference.

What - the owner is hiring coaches and not the head coach?

What kind of owner is this?

Someone in this country that would rather work for their money than sit at home and get paid to do nothing? That's un-American!

You can bank it, Spags will be the Defensive Coordinator for the Eagles in 2012.

That's because it's not government money he's collecting.

Must be sweet to get fired and have so many options...

These coaches have it made.

Maybe. He was not happy the times he felt Reid stopped him from getting a DC job earlier in his career. Not that easy to go back home sometimes.
He will have offers.

Spags will do well in Philly

Maybe his going back to the Eagles won't be as DC but as HC. Maybe this is the excuse the Eagles need to get rid of Reid.

Philly would be a good fit, they really need a competent DC to use all the talent they bought

When is the NFL going to start hiring illegal Mexicans and Chinese knockoff artist to manage and coach their NFL teams ( now that would be good old American economics). If jobs can be sent overseas to manage and manufacture all kinds of garbage for Americans to consume then surely you could train some Mongolian Sheep Herder to coach football. 20 years ago most Samoans didn't know about or care about American Football, they were great rugby players, so someone decided that there was more money and jobs in American Football than Rugby, now every Samoan wants to get an athletic scholarship to an American College, and then play for the NFL.

So how has China thanked all those Loyal Americans (Corporate CEO's) that sent jobs to China so they could rake in huge profits, or hired illegals to back door union jobs? Well China has gone and helped Iran by trading oil for nuclear technology, they are the biggest abusers of US corporate patent rights, China does not enforce the breaking of patent laws, they have an economy based on stolen US patent rights . And Mexico has nearly doubled (vis a vie illegals) the populations of states bordering Mexico, US CEO's call it "Job Growth", the financial stress put on these states due to increased crime and overburdened prisons and schools plus paying for every anchor child's birth and the Welfare that child gets is put upon US taxpayers.
