08:01 AM ET 01.05 | Jets rookie quarterback Greg McElroy didn't see much of the NFL, but he'd apparently seen enough. [McElroy] revealed a toxic attitude that permeated the locker room. "It's definitely not a fun place to be," McElroy told an Alabama radio station on Wednesday. "I can assure you." ... "It's the first time I've ever been around extremely selfish individuals," said McElroy, who was a seventh round pick out of Alabama. "I think that's maybe the nature of the NFL. But there were people within our locker room that didn't care whether we won or [lost] ... And that's the disappointing thing. It's going to take a lot to kind of come together next year," he added.

There is plenty of toxic permeations coming from Rex alone!

Love it! That takes some stones.

January 5, 2012  08:12 AM ET

Wow, and with all those high character individuals on that team. Whoda thunk it?

Let's see how Rex spins this one. I'm plugging in my BS-monitor right now.

This ain't Alabama, Greg... nor is it Southlake Carroll.

January 5, 2012  08:26 AM ET

I don't think anyone is surprised here.

Too bad he won't be there when that happens. But maybe that's a good thing.

Sounds like he really doesn't want to be there. But, it is New Jersey so who would?

Thought this was a ballsy move at first, but now looking back this was stupid as hell.

You don't air this out in a radio station down in Alabama, a day after the season is over.

He may have not only talked his way off of the Jets roster, but also may have doomed his career in the NFL... Word.

Sweet Home Alabama.....

Intelligent, truthful, outspoken, seventh round pick. Uh oh! Holmes can quit on the field and stay, this kid speaks the truth and he will be gone. And so it goes.

Love it, love it, love it... Love seeing the Jets not just blow the year, but to see this team is coming apart at the seems. 6-10 or 5-11 in 2012.

Exactly...... who in the HELL is Greg McElroy to say ANYTHING at all!!!?A garbage QB from Alabama who's biggest responsibility was handing the ball to Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson.Greg is pure trash.

He's got just as much right to talk as anybody else in that locker room. Sounds like the kind of leader Sanchise should be.
