08:14 AM ET 01.05 | Greg Stiemsma sure has made an impression during his short time in Boston. Eleven days. Five games played. And already the kid is a cult hero. ... He's the new Brian Scalabrine. He's the new Greg Kite. He's the new Kevin McHale. He's the new (gulp) Bill Russell? Stiemsma has heard it all. Not bad for a guy who most recently played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the D-League. Not bad for an undrafted center who averaged a whopping 3.5 points per game in his senior season at Wisconsin. ... [On Monday, he] blocked two shots, which got the attention of Comcast commentator Tommy Heinsohn. Stiemsma has 13 blocks in his first five games. Heinsohn said Stiemsma's shot-blocking technique reminds him of Russell.

Kid has a future...and a nice jump shot to go along with his tenacious defensive play..runs the floor like a gazelle...great pickup by "Red" Ainge...

QUOTE(#10):

I said last year what I will re-state here and now. Mike is on a short leash. If there isn't fast and sustained improvement, he will gone. Before I said he had until All Star break at the latest to show impressive improvement. The shortened season throws a monkey wrench in that prediction since with no break, I don't know what to use as a mark for justifiable termination.

Justifiable termination?

Isn't being a horrible coach enough?

Try and imagine how Johnny Most would have framed it......

Most of that team reminds me of Russell. Really old.

QUOTE(#4):

NOBODY wants to be known as "the new Greg Kite".

Or Rick Robey.

Heinsohn and Fred Flintstone--separated at birth.

QUOTE(#13):

I don't think Mike falls into the category of "terrible". He's better than some and not as good as others. I mean come on. He's no Flip Saunders.

I like the Knicks this year, but the problem is, two of the most important players, Melo and Amare, are NOT committed to playing tough defense often enough on that end of the floor.

QUOTE(#18):

Hope the guy works out for the Celtics. They need the help.

Yes we do MMA.... Magic dominated the wiz last night for sure.... I fell asleep during the half-time of the Bos-NJ game... but we still won...
