Bucs lining up Sherman?

08:03 AM ET 01.06 | If opposites attract in Tampa Bay, the Bucs might have found a match in Mike Sherman. Sherman's offensive background could appeal to the Bucs, who finished 4-12 and need to resurrect the career of quarterback Josh Freeman. In his third season, Freeman threw 16 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. In 2010, when the Bucs went 10-6, Freeman threw 25 touchdowns and six interceptions. In six seasons with the Packers -- with Brett Favre in his prime at quarterback -- Sherman went 57-39 and won three division titles. He was fired in 2005 after going 4-12, the Packers' first losing season since 1991. Sherman went 25-25 in four seasons at Texas A&M, including 6-6 this season, and went to two bowl games (losing both).

Sherman is about accountability... something that this quitting bunch of under achievers could use a healthy dose of.

A&M didn't think he could coach in the SEC why does Tampa think he has IT?

He's not quite as "retreaded" as the other retreads.
It's too bad... there are a lot of assistant coaches who've put in their time that deserve their first chance at HC.

They better line up some veteran free agents while they're at it. This team is too young and too undisciplined in the way they approach and play the game.

I just hope the homies can accept playing for a white coach and taking direction. Otherwise its another Fisher story down the road. I mean one of their own being replaced by whitie ain't working these days. Good luck Mikey.

A few younger assistants got jobs the last couple years and didn't last very long which makes me wonder if teams have been scared off...I agree these guys deserve a chance before some guys that already had theirs

A&M got rid of Sherman because they lost the last game they will have aginst UT for some time. Aggies and Maggies hate having to remember any loss to the Longhorns. Having won only 37 of 118 games, the memory of the last loss will haunt them for years.

The Bucs were burned too recently by that...my bet is that they go for someone with some HC experience.

Agreed..the whole retread thing is stupid really...I mean, who was Bill Belichick or Bill Parcels or Mike McCarthy before? Nobodies...someone had to give them a chance to prove they can coach. I think GMs forget that and only look at current name recognition.

Brian Billick might be the guy who can get this offense Together, he did a good job in Minnesota, and won The Super Bowl as Head Coach, there a are quite a few coaches out there who once worked for him and might be just what da Doctor ordered for Tampa Bay!!! I would at least bring him in for an interview or hire him to help in the decision process, I will not hold against him the fact that Rex Ryan once worked for him?
