08:04 AM ET 01.06 | After a somewhat tumultuous season, Osi Umenyiora insists he's focused on what's left of rather than what may come next season. "I think we have a better offense now than we did (in 2007-08). Defensively, our pass rush, it was crazy back then, and I think we're getting to that level now," said Umenyiora. ... [Justin Tuck] also believes Big Blue's defensive line can recreate the playoff dominance of the Super Bowl squad. "I don't see why not," he said. "I think we can definitely make a lot of noise in this run. We're only going to go as far as our quarterback and our D-line takes us." "We're at the peak of our confidence right now for the entire season," Mathias Kiwanuka added. "This definitely is a Super Bowl team."

why not? good ball management, a turnover or two, stout D ... I still think the road goes through Green Bay or New Orleans, but upsets happen, and that's the beauty of the playoffs

It must be something in the air in NY... all that hot air and SB claims...

Just like no one gave them a chance in 2007.

Exactly.

They have the worst record of any team in the Playoffs, but anything can happen.

Giants also had the hardest season schedule of any of these playoff teams

Oh come on... they played the 'Skins, 'Boys, and Iggles 6 times... a combined 21-27 divisional record... add to that the Cards, 'Hawks, and 'Phins... not very impressive... seems like this team is always a two tics away from a Coughlin coronary...

The only winning team the GGGMen beatthis year was the Pats.

In 2007 they were 1-5 against winning teams.

All I'm saying is the GGGGMen have a chance, don't they?

Fortunately, they cleaned up the AFC East going 4-0 vs those teams.
Your point really is about the bad football play that permeated the NFL this year, not about the Giants.
The Giants over achieved this year. Good for them.

Not much, but any year you beat the Jets, Dallas and knock the Eagles out of it is a goooood year. Hey, ya win your division? a good year.
Face it, there are the Packers and the Saints and 30 other wannabes.

January 6, 2012  09:55 AM ET

Every team in the playoff has "a chance", except Denver.

January 6, 2012  10:03 AM ET

Hahahahaha....rolling on the floor. I hope they make it to Green Bay....they have an azzwhooping payback coming for 2007....and it ain't BrINT Farve at the helm this time!!! Hahahaha

and yet the "great" Tom Brady did not beat a single team this year with a winning record....the lost two Buffalo...BUFFALO....and....wait for it.......wait for it......they lost the other 2 games to teams they DID play that had a winning record....Giants have a good chance is long as they play good D

I'm no Giants fan but they seem to have big game capability. Beat the Past at home and went toe to toe with the Packers late in the season.

I used to call Eli "Not Peyton". But I can see Eli finishing his career with more Super Bowls than "Not Eli".

January 6, 2012  10:13 AM ET

The giants looked good, for one game and marginal for many others so yes, they have a shot at another SB. And people were calling for Coughlins head just three weeks ago.

January 6, 2012  10:31 AM ET

The Packers are finally healthy and well rested......NY should have fun visiting Green Bay....and watching the SB on their big screen TV's.
