Bryant taking injections before each game

08:05 AM ET 01.06 | Postgame, Kobe Bryant is the picture of the walking wounded. After each game there'll be the tub of ice water for Bryant's ankles and monster ice packs bound over both knees with a timer for military precision on how long everything must stay chilled. These days, over Bryant's right wrist also rests a fat postgame ice wrap roughly the size of rookie guard Andrew Goudelock, Bryant trying in vain to minimize swelling after acting on the court as if there isn't a torn ligament in there. Bryant has been taking a numbing injection to that wrist before every game in hopes of performing normally. Yes, it's that bad. ... [It's] now clear just how problematic the wrist is, and it's fair to wonder where all this will take Bryant.

Splattered all over the place... And I have a feeling we will see a few more of those.

He should indeed take a few games off, Lakers is still a .500 team without him

I was so pissed...I was waiting for Rick to run out there and block Odom from behind the next time he fired up a three....I guess at least Roddy got some run is the only bright spot but it seemed like all his shots rolled out as well....OH well its only on game...

Kobe, "Hey Doc, how about 1 more injection." Doc,"It doesn't make sense, medically."
Kobe,"Come on Doc, 1 more.... Please!"

You gotta love that movie Any Given Sunday with LT and the Doc scene...

Better get some help. They need more than Bynum to carry the load. We all know his medical history. Odom would be nice to have about now.

It's all headed to a disgraceful end. Who in the world doesn't sign a prenup in this world of female dogs. Kobe's done... so are the Lakers. As for Brown he's a puppet like the Timberwolves coach...

January 6, 2012  09:10 AM ET

"A Brief Note for Kobe Bryant"

We all know what you are trying to accomplish by the ending of your NBA career (Most Points in NBA history). But come on man, your selfishness is starting to hurt the team. Your knees were repaired by a great doctor in Europe, maybe adding a couple more years to your NBA life. Do yourself and the team a favor, and sit this out until your wrist is completely healed. You will be a better man for it.

I wouldn't go that far. I mean, when have the Lakers been known for putting out a bad product for an extent amount of time. Great players want to play in L.A. and whether the Lakers would be out of the loop for a couple of years, you know they will always be back quicker than many other NBA teams.

Yea, and um....Odom isn't the same Odom people knew in L.A. You can tell, he's hurting from making that request...not that I can blame him, but maybe should of sat it out and gave it a little more thought.

Bingo...Foot in mouth.

I know that Kobe plays with a lot of injuries and seems to appear as if " when he's not on the court the Lakers have no chance to win", I believe his approach and thought to this approach is ridiculous. He is hurting the team more by attempting to play through these injuries because he's missing a lot of shots due to the torn ligament in his wrist and every time there's impact to the wrist he grimace with pain.

Take the time off to correct the injury, the team plays a lot better without him causing losses due to injury. Kobe should be more concern with his health moving forward after basketball and more considerate to the team moving forward with wins and loses. The guy have this thing in his mind that the Lakers are his team and they have no chance of winning without him. He's to conceded and full of himself, he's the only player in the league that don't sit when injured. Lebron, Wade, Duncan, Janobli, Tony Parker, Stoudimire, Dwight Howard, Chancey, Carmello, they all sit when experiencing injuries, come on man, if the Lakers are destine to win or lose, what will be will be, someone in the Lakers front office or staff should recommend he take care of the injury, it will help the team in the long run and make life a lot easier on him after he retires. I can imagine when he finally retires he'll be a mess with all the issues he has had due to injuries he played through for the love of the game.

... and i bet kobe is giving "injections" after every game (as he should be).
