The night before the BCS Championship rematch between Alabama and LSU, New Orleans' legendary party destination Bourbon Street has been awash with Tide and Tigers fans looking for a good time the night before the big game. Among the Crimson Tide fans enjoying themselves [Sunday], none is more famous than Harvey Updyke, the Alabama fan who allegedly poisoned the legendary oaks at Toomer's Corner in Auburn. ... Updyke, who said he is tired of his 15 minutes of fame, was a popular destination for fans Sunday night. Many fans stopped him begging for autographs and photos while he was strolling up and down Bourbon Street.

I tell you one thing, if he was in fact signing autographs and posing for pictures, then his tearful apology last year meant nothing.

I won't post anything here, but this goes back a lot longer than Harvey. If you want to know some of the crap we have put up with over the years, then you can email me.

This does not in anyway justify his actions. I need to put this at the bottom because I have been accused several times of supporting what he did just by saying this was only the latest act in a long line of things done by both sides.

And, no, I don't want his autograph.

As most of my friends on FN know, I am not a big SEC fan, I don't have a horse in this race, but nevertheless I wish both teams and their fans luck tonight and may the best team win. Let's just hope it is a good game to watch.
