08:21 AM ET 01.10 | In the eyes of many, the current system is in desperate need of a fix, and current leadership isn't tone deaf to the sentiment. College football's postseason is poised to undergo significant change. B.C.S. officials will meet Tuesday for the first of several discussions on altering the sport's postseason. Interviews with conference commissioners, athletic directors and television industry officials revealed that change to the current structure of college football's postseason was imminent. "I think there will be some change," Bill Hancock, the executive director of the Bowl Championship Series, said. "Now will it be seismic? No one knows."

Translation: "No, it won't be. There's too much money tied up in bowl game sponsorships and we aren't going to do anything that jeopardizes the amount of cheddar my friends and I are making from the BCS. We don't care if the fans don't like it, they still watch it."

Yes!!!!!

New System: In October, a committee will select 2 SEC teams to play for the National Championship, they will meet in a best of 3 series unless one team wins 2 consecutive games in which case it automatically becomes a best of 5 series in order to boost revenues and drive down viewership.

LOL!

After reading the headline, I thought somebody hired Mangino....

There will always be the same problem. No way out of it. Even with a top four playoff, there will be teams arguing they deserved to be the number four seed.

Play-offs only conference champion makes it into the play-offs not 2 or 3 teams from the same conference, just 1.
Rest of the teams get Bowl games.

Sounds like your adjsuted prediction almost came true. Only gave way too much credit for LSU to try not to lose the game, instead of, ya know, gameplanning an offense.

However, it will be proposed by Texas so that the last 2 games of the best out of 5 are shown on the Longhorn Network at Jerrah's World, with the last 2 for the best out of 7 games played in the Rose bowl and shown on the Big Ten Network.

The goal is to find some of the most anemic offenses to lull viewers in a trance and then steal their money with info-mercials at halftime.

Got the Bama 21 part right on seven field goals, huh. Didn't get the eight out of LSU though. Got an egg.

And 1 shown on NBC via ND's contract.

Couldn't disagree more. There were conference champions that lost to 6-7 B1G and 5-8 ACC teams. They DO NOT get to go and leave home Stanford/Oregon loser, Wisky/Mich St loser, or Alabama/LUS loser.

NCAA basketball never says Duke, you're in, but UNC, Cuse and Pitt have to sit this one out.

I don't see much changing Bama will win the BCS title next year.

Of course they will. They are unbeatable. No need to play the season next year.
