08:03 AM ET 01.10 | Is Hue Jackson in danger of losing a power struggle in Oakland? [ESPN reported Monday] that recently hired general manager Reggie McKenzie is contemplating whether to retain [Jackson]. McKenzie will be introduced by the Raiders on Tuesday, less than a week after he reached agreement to become the team's general manager. It is uncertain whether Jackson will be part of the proceedings Tuesday. From what I have been told from several people familiar with the situation, Jackson is expected back for a second season as the Raiders head coach, though McKenzie has not signed off on that as of yet. ... Jackson and McKenzie have the same agent, Kennard McGuire. McKenzie and Jackson are scheduled to meet at some point.

Maybe they should give McKenzie a chance to screw up before they start blasting out news like this. He's going to review the situation in his new role as GM and then make a decision. I'm pretty sure it's in his job description. Hue Jackson will have to explain why his team choked against the Chargers and lost the AFC West. I'm pretty sure that's in his job description. After that meeting, if Jackson has a better story than the rant in his press conference, he should go back to work as the head coach.

The Raiders could use a little continuity for a change. Jackson did a credible job in a year when they had numerous injuries to key positions and lost their cover corner to free agency

They've got the same agent? Isn't that some kind of conflict of interest? GMs have agents? Doesn't everyone named McKenzie wear a plaid shirt and live in Canada, eh?
Jackson was doing just fine until Campbell got hurt. The injuries and the Tebow Effect were a perfect storm, and Carson Palmer made a great Andrea Gail.

I say get him out, and bring in a real HC. Some of the things he says, makes me think he is an ego maniac. Make him the OC, but he will probably get mad and quit if you do. Go after Gruden or Fisher...they are HC's.
