08:33 AM ET 01.11 | Brad Marchand, who began his five-game suspension Tuesday, dismissed comments that came from the Canucks after the Bruins forward's low hit on Sami Salo that lead to the time off. On defenseman Kevin Bieksa's comments that the B's do "stupid" things? "Ah, yeah, we play stupid. We play stupid," he said with a shake of the head. "I guess we're smart enough to win a Cup, but whatever he feels." And of the 6-on-1 pileup on Shawn Thornton in the first period of the game, he said: "Yeah, they had six or seven guys on the ice at that point and they jumped Thornie. No one seemed to want to do anything once they got pulled off. It shows their character."

Bruins and Rangers right now are the teams to beat in the East.
Congrats to Nucks for winning a regular season contest in Beantown, but I suspect they will implode again come playoff time. If the Nucks players and coaches feel whining is to their advantage, then have at it.

I'll take the way the Bruins play the game over the way the Canuckleheads play it any day of the week.

Most people would agree with you.

Lets get this restructuring of the teams over with. These two teams need to play each other more often

Follow only if ye be men of valour.

Not that i'm really against anything he's saying, but he really needs to stop talking. Real champs make one quick snarky remark (ala rings in ears) and think no more of it. Brad, you made a dangerous play in a game you knew everybody was watching. Just serve your time and get back out on the ice. The more you antagonize karma, the more likely you will be subjected to it.

Ding ding ding. You won the cup, you don't need to say anything really...but if you want a good one liner go for it. He's young. He'll learn.

I hope someone brought the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.

Are they to overcome seemingly impossible odds to win again?

Should have given them the Pat Roy line.."can't hear because I have a ring stuck in my ear.." (of course it was plural with Roy's multiple championships.. but, I digress.

Marchy got what he deserved.. the Canucks should really just be quiet now. They are relentless in their whining. From the coach on down.. just zip it.

The Cancucks whine when they win and whine when they lose. Would we expect anything different from a poor excuse for a hockey team?

Agreed. But still, it'd be smart for his coach to tell him to zip it and do his talking on the ice before someone feeds him the butt end of their stick.

His big mouth will earn him some serious pain one day. He is lucky Chara plays 1/2 of the game so he can protect him all the time.

QUOTE(#13):

Figured I would share this one. I don't agree with the call for a penalty shot, but who knew Thornton could do this?

I think Colin Campbell was in the stands and he used a mirror to shine a light in the goalies eyes at the appropriate time ;)
