08:19 AM ET 01.12 | While Scott Boras plays the waiting game, waiting out the Price Fielder market, suitors certainly have their chance to court the slugger's services. Despite a report on the team's official Web site [Wednesday] playing down the Nationals' chances at signing [Fielder], a person familiar with the situation said the Nationals are "patiently and aggressively" pursuing Fielder -- a pursuit that included a new twist [Wednesday]. The Nationals' push for Fielder continued when Nationals principal owners Ted and Mark Lerner met with Scott Boras, Fielder's high-profile agent, at the owners' meetings in Arizona [Wednesday] evening, the person said. The details of the conversation are not known.

I bet Prince never thought he would go into mid January still without a team. Next month pitchers and catchers report, wonder where Prince will report???

Shouldn't be too hard to find the guy; he's likely at the hot dog stand.

It's market correction season.

Hopefully. Maybe the playing field will be a little more leveled after this offseason.

I'm sure a team somewhere will sign him to a AAA contract and an invite to Spring Training.I'll be furious if someone gives him huge $ and huge years at this point. It's market correction season.

Why? This guys only 27, plays every day and his numbers over the last 5 years are right up there with almost anybody in the game. I would have no trouble giving this guy a contract comparable to the one AGone just signed with Boston. In fact IMO, the Blue Jays should be all over this guy, and put him in the same lineup with Batista. What a one two punch that would be.

That would be a good idea for the Blue Jays. They could make him a DH.

He's running out of place to go. Fat Boy just needs to accept he's not getting a Pujols contract, sign and move on.

Fielder should stay in Milwaukee. Most NL teams won't take a long-term chance on him because of his weight issues and the fact that he'll be a DH in a few years. The big spender AL Teams already have their 1B/Future DH positions locked up; Texeira for the Yankees, Gonzalez for the Red Sox and Pujols for the Angels.

It's probably more about Boras at this point than Fielder....Boras is watching his commission dwindle as each day goes by.....

Patient/aggresive, isn't that a form of dysfunction?
