08:16 AM ET 01.12 | New Orleans Hornets Coach Monty Williams doesn't like what he's seeing -- but it's not his players that have him frustrated. [Williams] said several times this season there have been flagrant-type fouls committed against his players that have not been called by the officials. The latest occurred in the fourth quarter during Monday night's 94-81 victory against Denver when Hornets forward Carl Landry was violently raked across the face by Nuggets forward Nene, who was not assessed a flagrant. ... "Our guys are taking some blows and we're not getting the same," Williams said after Wednesday morning's shootaround. "A number of plays have happened this year, Carl's play. It's a tough one, you can't complain because you get fined."

Stop whining!

QUOTE(#3):

Hey it worked for Carlisle when he got ejected. I liked the way he fought for Dirk. Dirk was getting mugged by KG and the refs allow him to get away w/ it.

Garnett was all over him on the last shot as well...

Damn - that was fun to watch.

Keep Playing that Wah-Wah Guitar Monty....

Every coach complains about not getting calls at one point or another. It's just Monty's turn to complain.

Coach Silas of the Bobcats has the same complaint...not being a homer here but the beef is legit. Esp when the Heat/LAL/DAL come to town...the 'Cats are lucky to be outshot by 15 FTs, thats a mild night....smh @ nba refs

Meritocracies tend to have self-reinforcing customs and mores. To start getting the calls you hafta to be good--but to be good, you gotta get some calls. It's hard to pull yourself up by the bootstraps when you don't have boots.

Monty, it doesn't matter... After watching Lebron throw a shoulder into DeAndre last night and getting a foul called on DeAndre, I am not sure that the Heat are beatable. Later Wade goes in for a layup and Billups gets called for being near Wade, I am starting to see why the trade of Paul to the Lakers was annulled. Stern can tell you right now who the NBA champion will be this year!

Yep, Garnett was smothering Dirk again on that play near the end because he assumed there was no way the refs were going to call a foul with the score tied and only seconds left on the clock. If the same play had happened with minutes left instead of mere seconds then Garnett probably would have been whistled, as it was Bass got called for the foul.
