08:24 AM ET 01.12 | These days, "Manny being Manny" means rehabbing an image. Ramirez wants to land a tryout with a major league team for spring training, hoping that his filing for reinstatement and having his ban shortened from 100 games to 50 games will show teams that he's changed. "I want to show people that Manny can change, that he can do the right thing," Ramirez told ESPN. ... "I also want to show my kids that if you make a mistake, don't quit. Just go back and fix it. And if you're going to leave, leave the right way." Ramirez, who's currently working out in Florida, taking swings in a batting cage and getting in shape by working out in a pool, believes he can be a role model if a team gives him a chance.

He's not really talking in the third person, is he? Manny's either been reborn as Ricky Henderson or Elmo. Dang, I don't think I wanna take whatever drugs he took!

That's the funniest damn thing I've read in a while. It's kinda too late for Manny to be in that role.

You don't have to teach children to become greedy, childish and stupid. That comes naturally

Look Manny, the Red Sox had to bring in a Drug Task Force team just to clean out your locker.
Your out regardless for fifty games and an NL team is out of the question because no one wants to put you on the field.
Just not worth it anymore.

And the ones he didn't burn himself were probably burned by Scott Boras.

It's kinda late to be a role model. He is part of the slap-a-**** committee.

I remember one time in a pre-game interview in Boston when he was being asked why he sat down a few games why he wanted to leave the Red Sox. He said he thought about and is staying because "I am a legend here". He kinda threw the word "legend" out loosely.

Ask Manny's wife and she'll tell you that he's nothing more than a slap hitter now.
