Habs play 'top that' in ridiculous season

08:27 AM ET 01.13 | Mike Cammalleri weighty salary now becomes property of the Calgary Flames. Until Thursday night, we thought the Canadiens were living a surreal season. Goofy, ridiculous, disappointing. There were injuries, players not coming back who were supposed to be back. Head coach Jacques Martin and assistant coach Perry Pearn fired in separate sackings, Pearn turfed just before a game. ... But the Canadiens topped (bottomed?) it all Thursday night as they were losing 2-1 to the Bruins in Boston, a game that would be impossibly overshadowed by the Habs trading loose-lipped [Cammalleri], goaltending prospect Karri Ramo and a fifth-round pick in this June's entry draft.

If he wanted out by making the "we play like losers" remarks then he certainly got his wish.

I didn't think that a Montreal publication would even mention Subban's cheap, leaving your skates and targeting the head elbow on Krejci last night and I was right...Subban is one of the most talented Dmen in the NHL, why he continues to play like that and then turtles when Ference, our smallest Defenseman challenges him is embarassing...he IS a gutlless puke, Rex...

We'll see if Shanahan does the right thing here..with all the noise about hits to the head, it's gotta be a multiple game suspension....teams are continuing to cheap shot the Bruins to get man ads and as Jack Edwards said last night, 'the rats are winning"...

You don't make the comments Mike did unless you are begging for a trade. He got what he wanted. End of story.

Divide into groups and discuss.

QUOTE(#4):

Subban is hardly one of the most talented D-men in the NHL, but I agree with everything else you said.

Eat your heart out Rexie.

PK Chelios will be around a long time making you hate him.

Get used to it.

QUOTE(#2):

The Canadiens won't become a respectable team until they jettison that little punk Subban. He is a curse on their franchise. I wonder if any Habs fans were proud of his display last night? He's a gutless puke and should be getting a call from Sheriff Shanahan.

Montreal Fans probably say the same things about Marchand....or Chara...or Lucic.

IT's a RIVALRY!!!!!!

I dunno man, i never saw Marchand, Chara, or Lucic ragdoll themselves to the ice and hold their gloves over their faces like a little girl before.

For 2 seasons i've said that PK was a rat and a gutless piece of crap. The above video is proof. He has the balls to fight team mates in practice, but he won't answer for his own cheapshots on the ice. Cammalleri was exactly right and if he did want the trade i'm glad he got it. Big surprise that Montreal raded their best skater for another cheapshot artist.

I feel bad for the true Habs fans. Between trying to prosecute Chara, all the diving, throwing up a ruckus over hiring a coach that doesn't speak French, now all this crap, basically this team and all the hoopla surrounding it has been a friggin joke. A bad one with no punchline.

Not only was his turtling act shameful it was against someone who was smaller than him in stature by 20 lbs.

QUOTE(#10):

When is the last time you saw any of the three guys turtling while being dragged across the ice?

Subban has no honor. Chara, Marchand, and Lucic aren't afraid to answer the bell if another team takes liberties to one of their green-light hits.

The way Subban was covering up, I thought he was hurt.

The Bruins have 10 players who have fighting majors this year. Thornton leads the team with 10 fights. Ferrence isn't even a fighter and was ready to stick up for his fallen teammate. Would Les Canadiens do the same thing?

I figured they'd give Krecji a penalty for hitting PK's elbow with his head.
