08:10 AM ET 01.13 | Add another star to the list of players who may wind up watching from the sidelines. Carmelo Anthony kept on playing through [a sprained left wrist]. It was the sprained right ankle that did what defenses can't: It stopped him. Anthony hopped off the court, went to the locker room and did not return to a Knicks team that hasn't been able to stop putting the "off" in offense. ... "A sore ankle is a little bit more to deal with." So there was no telling if he will be able to play against the Thunder in Oklahoma City Saturday night. But Anthony was confident that this is not a long-term injury. "I'm beat up," he said. "I want to see how I feel by Saturday. I'm not going to force it."

Yeah man - They didn't look good at all - no fire , not competitive at all - Still early to get nervous but that window is quickly shrinking for them to get their act together for this season...

Have no fear... things will improve.

This has been a ridiculous start of an even more ridiculous season. It's like things are either going wrong for the right teams or going right for the wrong teams.

This will go down in NBA history as the season that wasn't... or never should have been.

Take your pick.. either way it all sucks so far.

Our problem is coaching. D'Antoni is not a real coach. He didn't deliver a championship with the all star squad he had in Phoenix. He's even worse here as a coach. Point in case he overplayed the starters against Philly keeping them in when we had a very comfortable lead. In the fourth quater they were all winded. Anyone who watched the game against Philly could tell the Knicks had nothing in the tank in the fourth quarter and were bound to get blown out in Memphis cos the starters played way too many minutes. And oh don't even bother watching the game againt OKC... we don't stand a chance with how our team is coached. What's a coach if he can't manage minutes? Last season he blew a game in Portland in not calling a time out and letting the team know we had a foul to give. With him it's always one mistake or another. Shumpert legs looks like he's walking on load bearing walls yet he plays a lot of minutes and makes a whole lot of mistakes. He takes way too many shots. He shot the team out of the game lastnight against Memphis. No rookie takes 15 shots in a half - who the hell does he think he is? All these prove the coach has no clue what he's doing. It was good having Mike make our team interesting while we rebuilt. But now that we got a real team; we need to get a real coach named PHIL JACKSON. D'Antoni's coaching philosophy and style of play won't get the job done... especially in the playoffs. A good coach will let Douglas or Bibby come in at the end of games to close quarters so Shumpert can get some rest and be ready for the beginning of quarters. He also has to learn team ball and not shoot like he's Ray Allen or Reggie Miller. We are not getting any production from the coaching department. Lets not wait till the water runs dry. FIRE HIM NOW.

Every year I hear fans complaining that the season is too long. Now with it reduced by 25% suddenly all I'm hearing is that somehow it's a big problem that it's such a short season.

Face it.. guys are going down because they just didn't care enough to bother keeping in shape during the lockout. Suddenly some of them can see he wisdom behind training camp.

I hope they all break something this year.

That logic sounds good but rememnber who did they play that was quality in those 4 wins? And please don't say the 76'ers.

And for all the knick fans who said start shumbert.....FAILED. If we really expect him to be something keep him coming off the bench because he's not ready to quarterback a team at this point.

I'll keep that in my mind. When truth comes from the heart it's raw and pure. I'll keep it retro next time. All I meant to say is that Knicks need a coach. What we have is a clown ass puppet...

1 horrible game versus 4 solid games he played - That's not a fail bro from my point of view....

But just remember....we are not a top team.We are/should be judged differently....ANY win,ANY winni.g streak is really good when you are a middle of the pack teamIf okc, chicago, miami, etc beat up on bad teams, well, they are supposed toWe ain't in that class

Thats where my fustration with chandler earlier this yr comes in. I think we should be good enough to beat up on the bad teams and compete with the the okc's and chicago's. We look so lost and confused offensively out there. It's hard to watch and shumpurt last night had me screaming at my t.v. I think chandler's being down low is messing with amare's game. Something is not right he should be getting way more touches then he does. And why is bumtoni not going crazy for amare taking these stupid 15-18 foot jumpers. He was hitting them last year but obviously not this yr. We look so much worse then last yr even though threw the same amount of games we have a better record this yr.

Yes and the one game is because he started. He came off the bench for a reason. In okc it works because that's how there team is built. But OUR point guard should not be shooting 20 shots in a game AT ALL! Especially a rookie!! He's better comming off the bench then he can be the scorer with the second unit. You could see the players fustrated last night with his shot selections.

January 13, 2012  09:10 AM ET

What bothers me is not that we lost it's how we lost. Even the wizards look more offensively sound then us. It's like we just lay these eggs sometimes and bumtoni has no coaching skills to have us win a game defensively or play hard even though where losing. It's like if mello isn't on his game we have no chance. That's not good at all.

Nah. Starting him is good but giving him too many minutes in a game that was all but won in the third quarter basically deprived the team of fighting chance in Memphis and no hope in OKC. So basically the coach blew two games and what annoys me is that he has no remorse at all with his corky jokes... man get him outta the big people. We need a coach with NY pride who can motivate the players to represent the city properly....
