D'Antoni blows off Barkley

06:17 AM ET 01.14 | Mike D'Antoni said he could not care less about Charles Barkley's TNT rant against him. The rotund broadcaster blamed D'Antoni's easy coaching style for rookie point guard Iman Shumpert's out-of-control game Thursday in Memphis. Shumpert shot 3 of 15 in the first half and 5 of 20 overall with six turnovers in the disaster, when the Knicks fell behind by 25 points. Barkley, who has had a personal vendetta against D'Antoni since they each lived in Phoenix, railed against the Knicks coaching staff for allowing a rookie to chalk up 15 first-half shots. Barkley, according to sources, dislikes D'Antoni ever since D'Antoni dismissed a Barkley attack by wondering the whereabouts of Sir Charles' championship rings. "I don't hear him," D'Antoni said yesterday. "It means nothing."

Never mind if Chuck and D'Antoni are snitting (actually, it sounds like Barkley is the only one snitting), but am I the only person who thinks it would be great for Steve Nash to play for the Knicks?

It Is Time To Go, Bro.

QUOTE(#3):

we all know D'A has warts- and before all the hating starts ....NO NY FAN WANTS HIM HERE- we currently have no choice as we are not management- But the most concerning thing is not his allergy to defense-its when after games they lose he says at the pressers, when asked about what;s going on, he always says.....'i don't know'wtf ?

First off I agree with Sir Charles. Secondly, I agree with you. It's not the lack of defense that would concern me. It's that he has no clue what to do after a loss. Saying to the New York press that you don't know what's going on after a loss is the worst possible thing you can do.

On paper the Knicks have a very good team. You just aren't seeing it executed. It's time for the guy to go.

The Nuggets are really good. I know they played well after Melo left but I didn't take it all very seriously. Their start this season has me paying attention to them for real.

I remember about four years ago when Mike D picked NY over Chicago... Or at least that was the rumor. I wonder when he thinks of that " decision " now?

On paper the Knicks have to every good offensive players and not much else. I'm not a fan of Mike D but the team keeps changing on him. And now what he has is a seriously flawed team. Maybe the worst backcourt in basketball and one of the thinnest teams in the league. And no one seems to want to defend anyone. What coach could win with that?

Sir Charles snitting or not, is right! This Shumpert guy is out of control. Knicks, if this is the best you can do for a guard, it is a matter of time before Amare and Melo blowup.
