08:11 AM ET 01.18 | Rams owner Stan Kroenke has placed his on-the-field faith on Jeff Fisher. "Jeff is absolutely what we were looking for. I told Jeff early on that's the way we viewed the world of sport -- how important it was to find that kind of coach." On the other hand, Kroenke isn't eager to guarantee the Rams would remain in St. Louis forever and ever. "The chronology of what occurs with the lease is public knowledge," Kroenke told reporters. "I don't think for me to comment on that process is timely." As the Post-Dispatch detailed earlier this month, Kroenke could exploit an escape clause in the team's Edward Jones Dome lease in 2015 if sufficient upgrades aren't made.

Doesn't sound like Stan 'is the man' in St. Louis.

Holy Crap, another Fisher story

January 18, 2012  08:22 AM ET

Hope you enjoyed that Super Bowl trophy, St. Louis... hope you enjoyed it very much.

His "own the field faith in Fisher".

He didn't give Fisher too much power, with too many titles... Smart man.

LA Rams has a nice ring to it...
Isn't Fisher a USC boy? Does he still own a house in LA?

Yessss! Another thread we can ignore for the rest of the day.

Do you think Jeff Fisher is saying "Crap. If I held out for a few more days maybe I could have been coaching Andrew Luck in Indy instead of Sam the Sham in St. Louis."

That's if the Chargers don't beat them to it.

The Rams back in LA would be a sad thing to see. I know some people from St. Louis, and while it definitely is a baseball town, they are very passionate about the Rams. I think a team like Jacksonville, where the locals don't give a crap about them, would be a better fit for LA.

You know Otis, I simply don't get the City of St. Louis. They already lost the Cardnials (The Great Jim Hart, Roy Jones (Cowboy nemisis) Terry Metcalf), now they would lose the Rams who brought them a Superbowl ring. This would really be disgraceful of the people of St. Louis given its such a great city. They would'nt deserve another football team ever!

And how is either the fault of the people of St.Louis?

The fans are good fans... they are devoted and show up. The baseball team is a perfect example (much to my "Game 6" pain...)

It's the dome... and just as in Minnesota - they gotta fill those suites. As soon as Kroenke bought the team, a new barn or moving it to L.A. became the end game.

I would be very surprised if he is NOT regretting his decision about now.

Or the Raiders... Mark Davis has already expressed an interest in moving the team if he can't get a new stadium deal near the Bay Area.

Actually, I think Fisher is good with the Rams decision. He has the #2 pick in the draft and supposedly will have input in the GM selection process. My only worries with Fisher are that he's offered the OC and DC jobs to Brian Schottenheimer and Gregg Williams; it will be interesting to see how those decisions pan out for the Rams.

He's not the man here in Denver either....he's called "Silent Stan" here for a reason.
