Why Giants fans should fear the forecast

08:12 AM ET 01.18 | Forecasts have a funny way of changing throughout a week, but the Giants' passing game can't much like what it sees for Sunday in San Francisco. The cohesive, rugged, old-school (think defense first) 49ers would be a challenge no matter where and no matter what the conditions, but looming up ahead is the true test whether or not the Giants are an all-weather team. After a rousing 37-20 beatdown of the defending champion Packers in the cold at Lambeau Field, go figure that a trip to northern California could be fraught with soggy peril for the Giants. It is supposed to start raining on Thursday in San Francisco and not stop until Tuesday. That's five straight days of build-an-ark inducing precipitation.

Football is meant to be played outside in whatever the weather is on Sunday. Deal with it. This is one reason Dome teams have historically done poorly in the playoffs.
