Selanne a fit in Detroit?

08:32 AM ET 01.18 | Reportedly running well under the salary cap, Detroit will have room to add salary down the stretch. The Red Wings are believed to have interest in, among others, forwards Tuomo Ruutu of Carolina and Ales Hemsky of Edmonton. Ruutu is a physical, agitating player with some scoring ability. ... [Bob Murray] recently revealed he would listen to offers for stars Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan, but would want established NHL players in return, not picks and prospects. Even if the Ducks were to deal one of them, the price probably would be too steep for the Red Wings. But if Anaheim's Teemu Selanne agreed to waive his no-trade clause to finish his career with a Stanley Cup contender, the Red Wings might be interested.

Edm would likely have loved to trade Alice, probably still wants too. With 80% of their talented guys hurt they may run out of skaters if they move him

The way everyone talks about all the players being a fit for Detroit, they should have enough guys for two teams.

If he is traded to Detroit, do you think they will photoshop a Red Wings jersey on this photo?

Maybe not so smart using Hall as the "barrel" in their barrel jumping contest.

Seriously. It is a great club. I can't imagine many (other than the **** in the league) not being a fit.

New NHL league with 8 teams.... Detroit East, West, North, South in one conference and Toronto East, West, South and North in the other. Enjoy the diversity, hockey fans!

haha - nice one...

And I'd bet it would be the crowning insult to Ottawa fans - both ASG nominees who rejected appearance on the same contending club. Maybe Ottawa can reactivate Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Hull to compete?

Slitting up the leafs - sounds like diahria. Selanne's averaging over a point a game, why would he retire?

January 18, 2012  11:17 AM ET

Selanne would look great in the Winged Wheel. Hemsky, not so much. He looks like he's ready for the KHL.

Jenna Jameson a fit for... well I won't say it!

Five minute major for the Picard reference! With a name like Jean-Luc, you'd think he'd know how to pronounce his name right, making the 'd' at the end silent. Cretin des Alpes!
