LeBron finally overtaking Kobe?

08:11 AM ET 01.20 | The sample size isn't all that large, and may not be in the future, but LeBron James won Thursday's battle against Kobe Bryant. [James is] scary good and only getting better. Enough to make up for that supposed lack of competitive fire. LeBron's stat line of 31 points, eight rebounds and eight assists with three blocks and four steals says enough. Toss in the fact that he was told to stay home and miss Thursday's shootaround because of flu-like symptoms -- you can believe what you want about how sick he was, but that part is a fact -- and it's even more impressive. As for Kobe, with his ailing wrist and worn knees? He put on a shooting display. It just didn't happen to be a making display.

Once again..consider the source. Mr. No-rings isn't even close to Kobe and never will be.

According to sources Lakers solidify their point guard position by trading Derek Fisher & Pau Gasoline to the NY Giants for Eli Manning. Best passer & playmaker to wear the purple & gold since Magic Johnson. Trade is not official until after Super Bowl.

lol. over 1 regular season game. Seriously. Lebron can't overtake the 4th quarter more less Kobe. And Kobe is like 33 years old and way more accomplished. Why are these guys even compared at all

James how many rings do you have? Until you have as many or more then Kobe. Then you will have overtaken hm. Until then, I don't want to hear about it.

This is just like when people keep saying that LeBron is better than Jordan.

Jordan 6 rings
Kobe 5 rings
LeBron zero rings

And at lest Jordan and Kobe didn't fade away and disappear in the 4th quarter of games.

Hahah... Lebron's lazy work ethic and the fact that he gathered the best players on the planet makes him a real loser. Even if he wins a million championships I won't respect that. No way in hell he ever gets compared to Kobe. He'll never be at his level...

kobe averages 29 shots per game and 30 points this season.
for lebron, it's 21 to score 30. he also gets more rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
nobody can deny kobe's accomplishments, but i'd rather have lebron at this point.

Kobe still the man.......lbj is a great player but he still has a hell of a mountain to climb before he is even on D Wade level..no ring makes him the current D Wilkins of his generation

January 20, 2012  09:12 AM ET

If i were to pick between the two for the way they've played all of their career i'm taking Kobe
If i were to pick between the two for the way they've played this season im taking lebron....

he's been overall better than Kobe this season and healthier.... Kobe only has so many injections to his wrist before he really has to rest it....
