Gulutzan rips into Stars

07:54 AM ET 01.21 | Glen Gulutzan has seen enough. The first-year coach of the Stars has typically defended his team when its motivation has been questioned, but he went on the offensive Friday night. After Dallas was clearly outplayed in the first 30 minutes en route to a 2-1 loss to Tampa Bay, Gulutzan ripped into the Stars. "The most frustrating part was really the first 30 minutes of getting outworked," Gulutzan said. "That's always the most frustrating part. I've got no problem if you go in a shootout or you play hard and you just don't get results. When you only play 30 minutes, some team comes into your building on a Friday night and outplays you for 30 minutes. I have a real big problem with that."

And... it's about time. The first half of that game was unbearable to watch. Don't know how I did it.
Benn and Ribeiro are out. They are gonna be out for awhile. The players on the ice need to stop feeling sorry for themselves and play with some friggin' emotion.
They needed reamed... glad Gully finally cracked the whip.

Yup... I read that also.
Bottom line is that that was a crutch for them to feel good about themselves that he should have avoided.
Young coaches... learning on the job. We have them in Dallas.

I watch the red wings taking shootouts, and every player is supremely confident with the puck & they know exaclty what move they wanna do. They have no fear of missing. Then I look at the Habs taking penalty shots & they look completely lost. Would it kill the coach to maybe let them do some in practice & perhaps encourage creativity? It's like night & day between the two teams.
As per usual, the red wings bring creativity and a breath of fresh air to the game of hockey.
