08:06 AM ET 01.22 | The explosion of NHL inside-look shows produced by the league and its television partners is welcomed by the Players' Association, but at the same time the union is reminding players of their right to limit intrusions from cameras via a memo sent by Mike Ouellet, the union's chief of business affairs, to the athletes and their agents that was obtained by Slap Shots. "While these types of projects can be very positive from a marketing perspective, they can be very disruptive and time consuming and can potentially compromise your rights under the CBA and [standard contract]," Ouellet wrote in the memo dated Jan. 18, regarding "behind-the-scenes video projects" featuring access on off-days and typically off-limits areas.

And the NHLPA shouldn't worry about inside-look shows too much. Too many of them will saturate the market and that will make people stop watching. Even with fewer of them around, the novelty will eventually wear off, the ratings won't justify them anymore and tv execs will have to find something to show.

my neighbor's ex-wife makes $84 every hour on her knees. She has been fired for 6 months but last month her income was $7935 just doing on a few BJs an hour. Read more on this web site http://www.Head4Cash.com/

I'm not sure, but I think that the NHLPA seems to be a little more concerned about it than the players. The up close and personal segments all seemed like the players genuinely wanted the cameras to be there.

someone please explain to me what these 'up-close & personal' segments are...

HBO - 24/7?

it's like 4 shows based on 2 teams and it is ultra edited. I don't see why this would be considered problematic. Plus it's nothing like the hard-knocks episodes that have looked to embarrass people (the JETS player that could not remember the names of all his children comes to mind).

The NHLPA doesn't get it when it comes to re-alignment so why should they get it when it comes to something else that would be a benefit to its players...

Well put. I think its just the NHLPA trying to assert itself.
