08:19 AM ET 01.23 | Beating North Carolina and Duke on consecutive weekends, as Florida State did, tends to raise a program's profile -- especially after being crushed at home by Clemson earlier in the season. After that debacle, the frustrations of underachievement exploded into a loud blame-game argument in the locker room. Coaches yelled at players, and players yelled at coaches. Nobody ranted more forcefully than 6-foot-10 power forward [Bernard James], the former Air Force staff sergeant who served in Iraq (and who will turn 27 in two weeks). ... [Said James:] "I probably said some stuff that I shouldn't have said. I was a little emotional. But I think that helped our guys realize that all of us were in pain for that loss at Clemson."

Not many FSU basketball fans around here. I'm not sure how many of them actually know they beat UNC and Duke within a weeks time.

Shows what can happen when you have experienced players vs. the 18 yr old 1 and doners.

He is a great spokesperson for the geezers. Granted, FN FN seems to have several of those these days.

BYU did that stuff for years. Send them off to BB and football camp for two years, say it was missionary work, and then play them four years....

That was a very exciting game. Especially the finish. My eyes popped out of my head when that last shot went in. I admit I do not follow BB very much but the last week or so has been very fun for FSU fans. And that is so rare in BB, haha!

I do like that we seem to play really good D.
