Rangers looking? Gleason, Souray offer options

08:23 AM ET 01.23 | Ryan McDonagh being run hard into the boards from behind on Saturday underscored what might emerge as a need for John Tortorella. The Rangers have depth on defense, including Steve Eminger, sidelined with a separated shoulder, and Jeff Woywitka, who presumably would play [Monday] night if McDonagh can't go against the Jets at the Garden. So the charge for [Glen Sather] is not to find just any defenseman, but one Tortorella will trust for major minutes down the stretch. The Rangers have always liked the Hurricanes' Tim Gleason, but there's a question whether he skates well enough for this coach. Sheldon Souray is an interesting proposition, given his ability to bomb away from the power play point.

I think Ottawa might end up being a first round spoiler for someone if they make the playoffs.

As of right now, I would agree with that.
In the East I see Flyers, Rangers, Bruins and Pens playing for top slots (I'm not sure who will step up in the South-least)

I think they will consider their season a rousing success if they make the playoffs and be just a small speed bump to the next round for the team playing them like who'll they beat The Rags the Flyers the Bruins do they match up good against any of these teams ???
