08:05 AM ET 01.24 | The long-anticipated arrival of Baron Davis had to happen sometime, and it was, admittedly, far from magical. [Davis] admitted to being "very rusty" Monday in his first practice with the Knicks, but sounded upbeat on what he can give the team in the future, saying it can be unstoppable. Davis participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage. During a segment the media was allowed to watch, Davis threw a couple of wild passes for turnovers but he also buried a 3-pointer and drove past Toney Douglas for a layup. Coach Mike D???Antoni also called Davis rusty but is looking to slot him in during the Knicks' four-game road trip, willing to play him limited minutes at first and build from there.

Davis considered retirement before the season started but as soon as he realized he could be a Knick he changed his mind. This shows he's done and won't be the solution. To fix the Knicks of these has to happen.

1. Fire D'Antoni and get a coach that will instill a non-free flow system.
2. Trade Melo for an elite point guard if you plan on retaining D'Antoni's services. Melo style of play and D'Antoni's coaching style clash and you can't ask either to change since they are both deep in their careers at this point. If I had to make the call I'd fire D'Antoni.
