Bucs search is a one-horse race ... or is it?

08:05 AM ET 01.25 | After Chip Kelly changed his mind, Tampa Bay returned to its drawing board. One notable fact about the Bucs' coaching search was revealed Tuesday: Beyond Mike Sherman, none of the other candidates known to have interviewed have been contacted about follow-up interviews or to be eliminated from the process. That leaves Sherman as the only known finalist from at least eight interviews. That could provide the strongest indication yet that Sherman has an inside track at the job. One possible caveat: the Bucs could be secretly negotiating with another candidate, as they were last week with [Kelly]. Barring that scenario, Sherman -- the former Packers and Texas A&M coach -- is the leader in a one-horse race.

Why would they hire Sherman??? I mean, especially after Warren Sapp offered to fight him, them mocked and abused Sherman on National Television??? Surely they can't be serious with this ... it's a ruse to throw the dogs off the scent of their real target, right???

I think they have more targets than they have bullets right now.

Absolutely. They need to put the pieces together from scratch. He can do that.

I guess they're thinking...."we can't fire him, if we don't hire him!"

Go ahead and laugh you impervious reprobates.
Singletary is the guy that put that 49ers team together and completely changed their attitudes and made them one hard nosed team. Why he gets no respect, I do not know.
He can clean up Dodge, and this team needs some serious cleaning up.
