08:08 AM ET 01.26 | Add Kevin Love to a growing list of bigtime players giving their hometown teams a chance, though Love can opt out after Year Three. His future is set, but Love wants more from Wolves. After signing a four-year, $62 million contract extension Wednesday with the Timberwolves, all-star forward Kevin Love said he will continue to play with a "chip on his shoulder" after not getting the five-year deal he wanted. "The five years was something I felt very strongly about, but I can always extend on this deal when it's done," Love said during a teleconference from Dallas. "I want to see where the organization is heading, and right now it's heading in the right direction. I just want to see how things improve."

Rubio balled last night, overall he has to be the best rookie so far. Just hope his shooting can get better but i'll still take another Rondo on my team.

he has an opt-out so its a 3 year "trap". Since they need at leat 2 more solid pieces to make a real move in the post-seasons, that seems about the right interval to wait and see.

It appears I may have been wrong about Rubio, but Love and Rubio aren't enough to make Minnesota relevant. Love is arguably the best power in the league. There's really no reason at all to continue to marinate in Minny.

Actually he is elevating his team, they are playing better and winning more games since he was drafted. No other PF in the league is averaging a double double. What other pf in the league is better then him. KG? Amare? Maybe Bosh?

Im a wolves fan and i agree some what...Love is a hell of a player and i love the fact he is in minnesota and i agree he's not the best but until now he hasn't had much to work with so you can't really take away from the guy bc he hasnt made the playoffs but now he has some key pieces and it will be interesting

Love and Rubio alone are not enough to elevate the Wolves to elite status... but it is a team game and they have other quality players/trade chips. All young teams take time to mature and the Wolves will be no different and shouldn't be expect to be different.
