Has Dirk become lazy and out of shape?

08:09 AM ET 01.26 | Some wonder if we're even seeing the real Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk? Is that really you? Lazy, out of shape? ... [Nowitzki] has amassed a ton of creditability points, so the benefit of the doubt remains strong. But if Dirk's return to the court comes Sunday against San Antonio, as expected, or whenever it comes, it's a must-watch to see where his game is, and where his head is located. Lazy, out of shape and bleep-it were never-ever negatives we would associate with Dirk. But our beloved gym rat obviously ate the world championship cheese and not even one of the best players in the world could simply go back to doing what he's always done. Dirk was reduced to an average player who finally had to be taken out of uniform.

This set of TnR today SUCKS!.. Even Cuban is raising h3ll about Dirk playing international ball in the off season. LAZY?? This must be a Laker or Heat fan writing this trash. I promise you this, its somebody who has never done ANYTHING with a uniform on.

The guy that wrote this probably never played a sport in his life....

He obviously is getting every benefit of the doubt. The weasels on ESPN, who never miss a chance to hammer LeBron, were absolutely fawning over Dirk's "color commentary" during last night's game. Imagine if LBJ was sidelined for being out of shape, and doing color, they would be pounding on him. Hypocrites!

Cuban has tanked the season by his personnel moves, so why should Dirk wreck his body? Everyone is saving it for next year.

Cuban has tanked this season with his personnel moves, positioning the team for next year. Why should Dirk wreck his body? This season is just a 66-game victory lap.

Agreed. It may be years until he has a champion again.

So Cuban can't rebuild?
