08:39 AM ET 01.28 | Call it quarterback envy. Call it playful jealousy. Whatever you call it, Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall has caught a serious case of it during this week's Pro Bowl practices in Hawaii. And from the sound of it, Marshall thinks he might just know which soon-to-be free agent could be the guy to provide the other end of the combo. The Dolphins wide receiver said he has reached out to Packers quarterback Matt Flynn and talked about the prospect of teaming up with Aaron Rodgers' backup.

Hey, I thought they were going after Peyton.
In any event, the guy has had one good game. Now he is the most coveted free agent QB. Seriously, folks?

He had a couple good games last year as well. Flynn is the real deal.

If not Flynn, then who? Mcnabb? Orton? Flynn is young and has the biggest upside.

Why Marshall cares:
half of that $47 million dollar contract he signed ( 5 year deal ) in 2010 is still due. $9+ million in 2012 and 2013. He has received all of the guaranteed money in that contract already. The only way he sees any more of it is if a QB like Flynn shows up.
And Marshall is a me first kind of guy. Always was.

That sounds about right, and just what the fish deserve.

Seriously. Name a better FA QB out there. If you cannot draft the first QB ,or second QB in this draft, then what?
And you do not have to teach him the pro game. Drafts are a gamble, bigger than a bet on Flynn.

Call Marshall in, tell him we can pay for a QB like Flynn, IF we can redo some contracts like yours.
See how bad he wants him then.

Flynn only had "one" good game as a pro, that being the final game of the 2011 season against the Detroit Lions.

Maybe Marshall has more a realistic streak than ownership.

People were talking about Flynn way before week 17. There was talk of whether the Packers should try to trade him before the season since this was his final contract year and he'd definitely leave for a starting opportunity (Ted Thompson decided having a dependable backup was more valuable than a 2nd or 3rd round pick; Bill Polian could learn something from this).
Just think of the Lions game as Flynn's final audition.
