09:06 AM ET 01.29 | A familiar face is expected to be part of Chuck Pagano's first coaching staff with the Indianapolis Colts. Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has agreed to assume the same position on Pagano's forming staff, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Arians declined comment when reached Saturday. He was the Colts' quarterbacks coach for the first three years of Peyton Manning's career (1998-2000).

I think I like this situation. You need someone who can develop a QB to help with Luck. Not a bad idea to get the guy who helped with Peyton.

Glad he is gone, IF he was any good, why didn't the Steelers keep him instead of forcing him out? Very unimaginative OC, If you watched any Steelers game, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out his play calling. Indy better have a great offensive line, Luck had better be as fast as Peyton getting rid of the ball, and Luck had better be able to absorb punishment like Ben, or he may have a short NFL career.

Pagano sure had Arians number as DC of the Ravens, played him like a fiddle last year, makes you wonder why he chose him as OC for his team....

Roethlisberger is afraid they'll go back to being a run-first offense. He doesn't want a diminished role.

Who knows, Rumors are flying...
Colts owner Jim Irsay and Peyton Manning attempted to clear the air Friday about the rumored rift between them, releasing a statement saying the two were on the same page. But according to a report from NFL Network???s Jason La Canfora, that statement hasn???t changed a thing, and Manning and the Colts are done.
???According to sources who were involved in the Colts??? GM search, the organization was planning to move on from Manning weeks ago, well before this public squabble between the quarterback and his owner,??? La Canfora said. ???So Friday???s joint statement won???t be changing a thing.???
La Canfora says the Colts will ???almost certainly??? look to move Manning before this year???s NFL Scouting Combine, which is slated to get underway on Feb. 22 in Indianapolis.
The Colts are expected to take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck with the No. 1 overall pick in this spring???s draft.

Well...
They didn't hire Tim Ruskell, which makes me pretty happy, but I was hoping they'd have hired Marc Ross, who is the director of college scouting for the GGGGMen. One of Jerry Angelo's weak points was his drafting skills; Ross found players like Hakeem Nicks and Victor Cruz coming out of college, that eye for talent could have been great for Chicago. I've read some good things about Emery... we shall see what happens. If he can keep Matt Forte in Chicago and keep both parties happy in the process, he'll be off to a good start.

That was certainly a short retirement.
