09:34 AM ET 01.29 | The NHL is giving the Devils advances on some of their future income to help the team through its ownership battle, deputy commissioner Bill Daly said on the eve of today's All-Star Game. Daly and commissioner Gary Bettman insisted the NHL is not "subsidizing" the Devils with outright grants and loans. They did confess the league has accelerated disbursing upcoming fees such as TV revenue.

Don't call it a loan, call it a cash advance.

They probably had to make the buttgoblin stand on 4 phone books for him to look that tall behind that podium...

Instead of a new arena they should have relocated. Even their Stanley Cup Championship teams couldn't sell out the old arena.

Don't hit the "Last T&R" left pointing arrow or else you'll end up in the NBA section.

The arena is not in such a bad place. It is very easy to get to by car or by train. I was just there a few weeks ago and it is the best arena I have been to, for any sport.

You're right about the arena. It is very nice. But .... I bet you anything you didn't take a stroll around the neighborhood after the game ... did you?

A new arena? Maybe you can make a case for it and defend that decision. But .... what is indefensible is the obscene contract they gave Ilya Kuntvalchuk.
