08:13 AM ET 01.31 | To date this season, one would be hard-pressed to come up with a better dunk. [It] was the most vicious dunk I've ever seen in person, and I've been there to witness some pretty wicked dunks from Blake Griffin the past few years. ... A truly amazing athlete, Griffin. Griffin's dunk easily beat what LeBron James did Sunday as the NBA's top dunk this season. James jumped over a crouching, 5-foot-somethin' John Lucas III. Griffin threw it down over the 6-foot-9, 267-pound, get-outta-my-face Perkins. Any questions? Heck, even James himself chose Griffin with this tweet -- @KingJames (LeBron James): "Dunk of the Year!! @blakegriffin just dunked on Kendrick Perkins so hard!! Wow!! I guess I???m #2 now. Move over #6"

QUOTE(#1):

Shotblockers get dunked on because they aren't worried about being posterized.

True, It was still a tough dunk though. Either way you slice it, it was nasty.

I dno, i still think Lebron's dunk over Chicago was better. I've never in my lifetime seen a guy catch a lob - jump over a guy and dunk it. We see the shotblocker facials every season.

QUOTE(#14):

Same as the Heatles. They get most if their points from their defense and continually attacking the basket. OKC has a more consistent scorer/shooter in Durant. LeBron and DWade can't hit their outside jumpers consistently unlike Durant.

At least this year, Wade/Lebron aren't settling as much for jumpers.

It's a very good point that if the other team isn't turning it over and the Heat have to play more 1/2 court -- their athleticism won't help as much. (showed up last year vs. the Mavs)

I'm surprised people are criticizing Perkins -- since many said not having him cost the Cs last year in the playoffs.

QUOTE(#6):

Technically, was it even a dunk?Kinda looked like he threw it in, rather than a true rim rocking dunk

Whatever it was it was nice looking, but they are overhyping it. The way they were talking about it I thought.......well I'll leave graphic language alone. You get it.
