08:14 AM ET 02.01 | Perhaps Plaxico Burress never wanted to leave Big Blue. [Former teammate and close friend Brandon Jacobs] said Burress wanted to sign with the New York Giants -- not the New York Jets -- when he became a free agent last summer. Jacobs also raised the possibility of a Burress reunion in 2012. Asked if Burress had his heart set on returning to the Giants, Jacobs said, "Oh, no question, I know he did. I know he wanted to come to the Giants. We just didn't think it was going to be able to be done financially. But he may be (back) next year, who knows?" ... Jacobs intimated that Burress was under-utilized by the Jets, also suggesting that Burress -- a free agent -- doesn't want to return.

im sorry, I dont buy this for a minute, the JETS were the IT team and the team on the rise (im a GIANTS fan) the team with the better chances, back to back AFC Championship games if you havent heard Rex Ryan say it, Thats why he signed with the JETS, but NOW he says he wanted to sign with the Giants, BULL! He wont be back, Eli is ELITE now because he doesnt have "DIVA" receivers like Shockey & Plax..Giants moved on and arent looking back

After seeing the direction the Jets are taking versus the direction of the Giants, I'd want to go back there too. Cripes, I'd even consider the Browns.

There's a lot of truth to that. Unloading diva WRs has been a godsend for Cincy, too.

Yeah, like he wanted to come back to the Steelers too. He fits in perfectly with the Jests.

AMEN! Dalton wouldnt havve been able to do what he did had Chad & TO been there, although Carolina's Steve Smith is a DIVA Cam is bigger than him, had he sucker punched him Cam would have murdered him

Regarless of where he goes, he's going to be staring at a lot of one to two year contracts. His reputation preceeds his talent...

There are a lot of teams out there that need a decent receiver, but the Giants are not one of them. If Plax leaves the Jets, look for him to show up in Washington, Philly, or St. Louis.

Way to burn your brideges with the Jests, Plax. 34-year-olds don't get a lot more chances in this league.

February 1, 2012  08:43 AM ET

"Shoot", he's been "gunning" for this ever since he got out. He needs to get a "leg" up on the competition though.

Sorry...just had to. Good morning.

If that's the case, time to find a good therapist.

Every day would feel like an eternity.

I'm sure the year with the Jets was worse.

I don't see where there would be room for him on the Giants to begin with.
