08:01 AM ET 02.02 | Adrian Peterson bit off more than he wanted to chew. On Friday, Peterson floated the idea of changing his uniform number from 28 to either 23 or 21. ... [On Wednesday, tweeted] Peterson: "So here is the deal with the number change! So I received a call and I was informed that I would've to buy all jerseys that's been produced ... Thus far! N the total amount that I would have to pay blew my mind!!!!!" Peterson says someone, whom he didn't name, told him it would cost a million bucks to make the change. That sounded a tad high, even for a guy who stands to make up to $100 million over the next seven years. (Don't you just hate it when someone tries to charge you $1 million to change your shirt?).

He should be more interested in changing teams.

February 2, 2012  08:08 AM ET

maybe should worry more about his rehab.

This is news to him? Ochocinco went through this a couple of years back.

Gee, what a story...

If AP's worried about his number, rehab must be going pretty well.

Yeah, it's not like there's a big game coming up this weekend, or anything like that.

THis is stupid and the only thing he should be talking about is his health.

Preferably to a team in North Texas close to home...

As The once Great Leader in Green Bay once said! "What da Hell is Going On Out There"

The oversized Cowboys bib took care of that.

There is much to be said for proper barbeque attire.

I'll forego the obvious jab at Cowboy fans that statement opens up, just 'cause it's too easy.

Well if he wants to change his number, then come to Cincinnati and you can have what ever number you want and the Manufacture would be stuck with all them jerseys....problem solved.

February 2, 2012  09:47 AM ET

But, why would he want to change his number?

February 2, 2012  09:48 AM ET

21 or 23 could open in New England for you if you'd like Mr. All Day

February 2, 2012  10:07 AM ET

The Vikes should buy up the jerseys just to keep him happy. Peterson is the franchise.

Maybe he could get an unlisted number....
