08:02 AM ET 02.02 | Against some evidence suggesting otherwise, Donovan McNabb remains bullish on his own future. Part of that future could include a return to the NFL next season. McNabb, who was released by the Vikings midway through his 13th season, didn't sound like a player who has completely walked away during an interview with "Super Bowl Live" on Wednesday. The phone hasn't rang for McNabb, but he believes he has something left to offer in the right situation. "I see three teams in the NFL, right now, that I feel like I can add a little bit of flavor to it from what they have," McNabb said. "I won't mention those teams. But, if the phone rings, there will be a lot of decisions to make on that."

I could see him reuniting with TO in the IFL.

"If the phone rings..."

I wouldn't hold my breath, Donovan.

Isn't TO a part-owner of that team? That could be interesting...

"We're sorry, the number you have dialed has been disconnected and is no longer in service. Thank you and have a nice day. "

"It's over Johnny, IT'S OVER!"

"Hello, thanks for calling Dominos, this is Donovan. Would you like to try our cheesy bread?"

NFL team or bill collector? Answer or let it ring?

February 2, 2012  08:30 AM ET

That's a pretty big IF!! Donnie

February 2, 2012  08:31 AM ET

Only three? What team wouldn't want an old, immobile QB who can't throw and is never in shape?

February 2, 2012  08:40 AM ET

Donovan is in serious denial.

February 2, 2012  08:54 AM ET

What part of "No" don't you understand, Donovan?
Bye Bye, it's over!

February 2, 2012  08:56 AM ET

The only thing he has to offer is spreading cancer all around the league. Pack it up and go home.

February 2, 2012  08:56 AM ET

we'll take him as a back up to Palmer for the league minimum!

Most likely a wrong number or a robo call.

February 2, 2012  09:07 AM ET

Poor guy. He's going to pick up the phone and listen to every political robo-call until November.

That he is.

I wouldn't even want him as a backup.

The league minimum for a player with his number of years in is $910,000.
Not that he would necessarily play again for that salary. But that is the number.

One writer claims the Cowboys are " interested " in VY as their back up QB. I don't see it, but I would not mind a part time job being a writer just making stuff up like they do from their couch.

Having free agency overlap with political campaigns must drive all those guys crazy, but given how McNabb has behaved lately I'd say he deserves to sit through the opening stanza of How the Gingrich Stole Christmas a few hundred times.
