Keeping DGB the start of something big at Mizzou

08:18 AM ET 02.02 | Missouri will enjoy some recruiting momentum as the SEC transition beacons. [That transition] became a little bit easier -- just a tad bit -- with Dorial Green-Beckham announcing that he will stay in state and attend Mizzou. The nation's top wide receiver and perhaps best overall player instantly becomes quarterback James Franklin's top target, as Green-Beckham is the closest thing the college game has seen since Randy Moss and Calvin Johnson. ... [It's] a huge gain for the Tigers, especially because they were able to keep the state's top talent from leaving. Like Steve Spurrier has done the last few years, grabbing the state's best talent is crucial for any program looking to elevate its stature.

No DL recruits of note.

Has Vegas released the odds on the number of current scholarship players that Saban will release/medical redshirt/etc?

Mizzou is in deep trouble even with the current class they brought in. The SEC is going to be a painful experience.

Good luck to DGB.....no sour grapes here. He's a good kid and I hope he can handle the fame and expectations.

As for Mizzou, they are fortunate to land in the SEC E right now. These things are cyclical, but IMO entering the league battling UGA, Fla and USC jr RIGHT NOW is a better choice than entering and competing with Bama, LUS and Arky for a division championship.

IMO, Mizzou will upgrade talent & they have a good QB, but recent results will likely continue. .500 record in conference and 8-9 win seasons seems to be the limit for them for the next few yrs in the SEC.

Not as painful as it would have been in the SECw. Hell, Mizzou and Aggie didn't set the world on fire in Big12 football. Mizzou, not in any other sport either. Doing good in hoops this year. Aggie was pretty good in other sports but not FB.

I think they will be about the same as they have been. About a 7-8 win team each year.

Still think he was in Shreveport "assisting" in Shiro's decision

Sounds about right, but don't think their overall talent will get much better. They've already had some great individual talent.

BigXII gonna be tough this next year. They got rid of those creampuff Mizz and TAMU and brought in those powerhouses TCU and WVU. Be lucky if any team gets above .500 next year.

LOL

OK.....let me see if I can get this right. Big XII is better defined as:

Big 2 +10-2+0-2+2 = 12, right? Your conference goes through any more change, the definition of such is going to end up looking like the quadratic equation or pie to the ninth power.
