08:03 AM ET 02.03 | Despite some assurances that talks will remain in-house, Peyton Manning and Jim Irsay appear again to be faced off in headlines. "Peyton has not passed our physical nor has he been cleared to play for The Indianapolis Colts. Team statement coming on Friday." - Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay via a tweet on Twitter at 1:25 a.m. [Friday] morning. ... [Manning] received medical clearance to return to the NFL in 2012 during a postoperative visit Wednesday with the surgeon who performed the Sept. 8 spinal fusion procedure on the Indianapolis Colts quarterback. It remains to be seen if that will influence the Colts as they weigh whether to retain the league's only four-time MVP. Manning missed the 2011 season.

February 3, 2012  08:16 AM ET

yeah....its seems they will go their separate ways.

Wow, he seems a tad testy. Machiavelli always said you want the support of the populace when you take power. This is not the way to do it.

February 3, 2012  08:27 AM ET

This could be an ugly divorce.

Irsay should just keep his mouth shut and release Peyton in the next week or so and go get Luck. Say it's time for the team to move forward, not many Colts fans are gonna throw a fit... most know it is inevitable right now. So why come out and dispute everything Peyton says? Makes Irsay look like a lil spoiled brat.

IRSAY: Thanks for the last 13 years Peyton... don't let the doorknob hit you...

The sooner the better.

Funny, though. The usual story is that the team will clear a guy medically when a doctor wouldn't.

What Irsay is really saying is that Peyton Manning hasn't been cleared financially to get paid by the Colts.

I desperately want to kick Irsay in the stones. You can not treat the guy who has been the savior of the franchise for the last decade like this. Totally classless.

Yep, he just sounds like a guy trying to prove he has a reason to let go of one of the greatest QBs of all time!

Right here... I can't see Robert Kraft and Tom Brady having a similar exchange whenever their day to part ways comes.
