09:26 AM ET 02.05 | A wealthy San Francisco hedge-fund manager and officials in the Seattle mayor's office have been working behind the scenes for eight months to bring an NBA team back to the city as early as next fall and build a new arena, according to emails and documents that reveal a far more concerted effort than previously known. Although the documents don't mention how Seattle would obtain a team, they show the city has been following developments in Sacramento, which is under a March 1 deadline to come up with a viable proposal to build an arena for the Sacramento Kings. In September, Hirsh emailed a copy of an Associated Press story to Raup that outlined the Sacramento situation.

I'd rather have an expantion team rather than to steal a team from an other city like Oklahoma did

The whole Sonics to Thunder thing was a scam from the get-go, so this little tidbit makes me wonder what kind of strategy the NBA is following here. I can see wanting to get out of Sac Town but, only to move to Seattle??? Say that instead of Seattle, they move to a town that has a better demographic and deserves a Pro Team, like St.Louis\Kansas City, Tijuana or Washington D.C.!!!

The TJ Kings. I like it...Los Reyes de Tijuana!!!

TJ would be cool I think, never gonna happen, but it would be cool ;)

It would be interesting to see if the Kings would ever migrate back whence they came, a reborn Kansas City Kings team - like a Phoenix rising from the flames of the NBA wasteland, hehe. Can I get some consideration for our Nation's Capitol too, I mean, they have been in need of a 'Pro' team to show up all year :]

I know we barely count the Wizards as a franchise but i dont think D.C. can take two losing teams......
