08:10 AM ET 02.06 | Shane Battier's calling card is defense, but the Heat could use a more effective Battier on the other end. With [Battier] going 0 of 4 from the field Sunday, his shooting percentage on the season dropped to 31.3 percent, the lowest of his career. Battier is heralded for his defensive prowess, but he hasn't been able to contribute much recently on the other end of the court. Not only is Battier adjusting to a new offense, he is only averaging 23 minutes per game, also a career low. "I'm struggling with the age old question of when to pass and when to shoot," Battier said. "That's the basic philosophy on offense. The great Hubie Brown said, 'Know when to pass, know when to shoot,' and I'm finding a way to mess that up."

Instead of going to a team where he would play and be a contributer....he went to miami to ring chase, knowing he was going to play limited minutes.
There is no surprise here

Same old, same old. They go to the Heatles thinking they're going to make a difference. Noooot! All these old guys just go to the Heat to rot at the end of the bench. The 3 BigEgos play most of the games' minutes. They may get wooed by the Heatles but they're not guaranteed playing minutes. Free agents will learn that going to Miami will not guarantee you a ring!

Miami is the experts' pick for a ring - even though you and I are among those who don't want to see it happen. So, according to the odds - free agents will learn that going to Miami *will* get you a ring, but *not* playing time.

Nope, these free agents will soon find out that going there won't get you a ring or even playing time! Battier and those free agents that join the Heat is proving that it won't guarantee them a ring and they probably won't be happy even if they got a ring because they won't contributing much.

I think they were signed to play in the fourth quarter.... let's see how that works out...

dude, are you smoking crack?
battier is playing 25 minutes per game, he's not rotting on the bench.
secondly, he is there to play defense and defer to their stars.
I guarantee you that he has no problem with this, because he knows that they have a great chance to win a ring this year.
don't be blinded by hate.

Clearly Battier is just trying to figure out how to fit in. It takes time to gel and without a training camp this year it's taking a little longer. They will figure it out.

Remember how many losses the Heat had last year until they figured it out and ran to the Finals.
