FSU 'forced' to sue West Virginia?

08:18 AM ET 02.06 | West Virginia, already with a pending lawsuit against the Big East, may have more litigation on its hands. Florida State athletic director Randy Spetman on Saturday said that the university in the coming months may be forced to proceed with litigation against West Virginia if the Seminoles are unable to find a suitable replacement for the now-cancelled Sept. 8 football game between the two schools. On Saturday morning, Spetman announced, through a statement, that the contest would not be played because the Mountaineers were backing out. As West Virginia prepares for a move from the Big East Conference to the Big-12, the game didn't appear to fit in what would be its new schedule.

Figure this is going to happen a lot with all the conference changing crap.

But are they just plain chicken!

Yep, chicken just like the vast majority of other major universities that want to schedule cream puffs for OOC games. They can always use the excuse that "the conference is so tough we don't need any good opponents for OOC games" like some I know.

It is a good thing the SEC does not do that, LOL. I guess the 12 Pac should change their ways, huh.

They all should! IMHO, the damn BCS scares them from scheduling good OOC games. LSU's was fair last year though since they play WVa away and Oregon neutral.

Bobby Cleckler Bowden should be the judge!

Boise State plays Michigan State on 8/31, they can drop down to Tallahassee on 9/8 and play FSU. :-)

If you can calll Arlington Tx. neutral for an Oregon game????

Conferences stealing teams, teams taking conferences to court and vice versa and now we have teams suing each other. Oh the inhumanity of it all and where is it going to end.

Awsome. Get the lawyers involved. That will solve everything.

Hey, give Bama a break, they did go up to Sandusky's territory last year.

FSU should play Southern Miss. I believe Southern Miss has an opening and they traditionally played back in the 90's. Although USM lost their coach, it would be good for the locale and fans would want to see that game from both schools....

IF WVU wants to back out, it should provide an opponent prior to the official cancellation. Seems fair to me. .... "I have to cancel our date tomorrow, but I have a better looking friend who said she would go out with you" kinda thing... No???

It won't end until teams start suing the "Flawed" BCS!!!!!

It wasn't in Baton Rouge!

So does that mean when Arky plays at War Memorial in Little Rock, its a neutral game?

LSU invaded DFW that weekend. Not that it would have changed the outcome that much.

Hey FSU, don't piss Bobcat Goldthwaite off!

Haven't seen any schedules, except for TCU's first game...Sept 8, which is an OOC but I think most Big 12 teams start with OOC games. IMO West Virginia is just using any excuse not to play a good team OOC that they can...a la Texas Tech cancelling on TCU last year.

I say they're yellow! LOL
