Wheeler snaps on Subban: 'He jumped me'

08:26 AM ET 02.06 | Add Blake Wheeler to a list of NHL players who have a beef with Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban. Showing some obvious frustration after the Canadiens had taken a 3-0 advantage with him sitting in the penalty box serving a roughing minor for getting involved after the whistle, Wheeler challenged Subban a few shifts later and eventually both players dropped the gloves. However, Wheeler didn't like the way things went down. "I asked him to fight and he declined -- and then he jumped me," said Wheeler, whose last NHL fight came almost two years to the day when he dropped the gloves with Canadiens defenceman Ryan O'Byrne on Feb. 7, 2010. "That's pretty much what he is."

Subban is the worst kind of player there is. He is a diving coward who doesn't have the gonads to back up the cheap shots that he dishes out. I wouldn't be sad if he blocked a shot with his face.

Wheeler was sent packing by Boston specifically because he is soft and weak. I'm amazed that he wanted to fight Subban, he must have been really pissed. I'm not amazed however that he couldn't handles the little scrote. For such a big guy, he is not very rugged. Next time he challenges a P O S like P.K., he needs to remember to get himself ready ASAP.

Looks like it happened just like Wheeler said. Subban tries to decoy Wheeler and then jumps him. He did the same to Joffrey Lupul last year. He's a punk.

Even though it was subtle, I agree. Assuming that it happened how Wheeler states, I can see Subban pause and then lunge toward Wheeler after Blake had started to shake off his mitts.
