08:22 AM ET 02.07 | Alabama lost what will likely be first-round NFL picks, while Baylor, LSU and Oregon also lost headliners. From a sheer talent standpoint, Stanford took the biggest hit of anybody. [Andrew Luck] almost certainly is going to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, and [David DeCastro] and [Jonathan Martin] -- who were first-team All-Americans -- could both go in the top 10. Sophomore Brett Nottingham is first in line to replace Luck. ... Juniors Josh Nunes and Robbie Picazo also will get opportunities in the spring. Junior Kevin Danser seems likely to take over for DeCastro, though junior Khalil Wilkes, who also can play center, and redshirt freshman Kevin Reihner should get a chance, too. Replacing Martin is more problematic.

Stanford did a darn good job recruiting this year, better than I was guessing.
Stanford is one heck of a school, would be hard to turn down a scholarship from Stanford.

Totally agree.....if you are a student athelete who cares about the student-part. Losing the coach one year and best player the next....may be tough for them to keep the momentum going.

Stanford recruited some pretty good offensive linemen this year. IMO they will be more of a running team and ball control team for the next few years.

I look for Stanford to remain competitive in the coming years. Their doing so would make for a better PAC. Hmmm... future bowl pairing - Stanford vs Vandy? Conceivable?
