08:14 AM ET 02.09 | Terps fans may want to brace for a significant departure. [Danny O'Brien] is on the verge of leaving Maryland's football program and transferring to another school, individuals with knowledge of the situation said Wednesday. ... [The departure] would represent a significant blow to Coach Randy Edsall's program. If O'Brien departs, the Terrapins would have just one other experienced quarterback on the roster next season in junior-to-be C.J. Brown. Shawn Nestor, a Maryland athletic department spokesman, said Wednesday afternoon that the school "can't confirm or deny" that O'Brien is leaving the program. On his Twitter account, O'Brien wrote, "Contrary to rumor, I am still a Terp."

If my coach made me wear those ugly uni's....I'd quit, too.

The wheels of justice turn slowly but they do turn. Fire a coach that is doing a pretty decent job considering all factors. Now it seems they have a total miscarriage at Maryland. Sound familiar Texas Tech administration?

Well I hope the cognitive slippage doesn't affect your ability to recruit fax cam girls.

Hell no. It'll help! Can't remember I recruited a beautiful one so I'll just recruit some more. They'll pile up like 0-6 pics! We'll need some more faxes and cameras though!

Yeah but Tech sucks.

The Athletic Departmnent at the University of Maryland would have to improve 1000% before it rose to the level of utterly incompetent and laughable.

He looks like Red Ross in that picture.

If O'Brien leaves, that will make 23 players who have left the Maryland football program since Edsall took over. Wouldn't it be better if Edsall goes before the rest of the team leaves?

Maryland's quest to rise to the top of the ACC never took hold. The "fridge" took Maryland to levels the school thought it belonged, competitive with FSU and others and 9-3 was no longer a pipe dream. Edsell was not the right move, sideways at best, competitive in the weaker Big Least. With FSU getting back to stride, VT remaining elite, and others in the ACC more consistent, Maryland has been put back to levels where 7-5 is an accomplishment.

Congratulations to all at the school who made this happen!

It will take at least 5 years for Maryland to get a decent football team; two more years before Athletic Director Anderson must face up to the tragic mistake that is Edsall and will be forced to resign in disgrace and three more years of rebuilding.
